Aurora Picture Show presents a family friendly screening of short films celebrating the written word called REEL READS on Saturday, December 6th at 3PM in the Julia Ideson Building of the Houston Public Library (500 McKinney Street).  Presented in partnership with the Houston Public Library, this Popcorn Kids Screening is made possible by Reliant, an NRG Company. Curated by Liz Sheperd, the Director of the Children's Film Festival in Seattle, this program celebrates books and reading with a collection of animated short films.

Expect everything from drama on the high seas to cozier tales of soft yarn, mice and bunnies. You'll love the happy endings, and come away more sure than ever that books and films are great ways to see the world and feed your mind!

Aurora is pleased to be partnering with the Houston Public Library to present this program in the Julia Ideson Building, specifically in the charming Norma Meldrum Children's Reading Room. Parking is available on the street or in the Library Garage, which is an underground garage accessible from the Lamar side of the Library, and costs $2 per hour.

Her work has appeared in New Yorker magazine, This American Life, and on the Sundance Channel; she's collaborated with musical artists Sufjan Stevens and Weird Al Yankovic, among others.
