NIGHT LIGHT
Co-presented by Aurora Picture Show and Buffalo Bayou Partnership, NIGHT LIGHT is an annual spring event featuring newly commissioned, large-scale video art installations at various sites and structures along Buffalo Bayou’s waterfront. Beginning at sunset, each of these transformational audiovisual works are connected by trails, with a lively market featuring food, drink, local goods, and music anchoring the one-night festival.
With these commissions of large-scale, site-specific installations, Aurora aims to expand creative possibilities and audience engagement for a diversity of Houston-based artists, as well as enhancing public engagement in contemporary art. NIGHT LIGHT has attracted thousands of attendees each year since 2022. Nothing better reflects Houston’s landscape than the unique confluence of natural, industrial, and urban elements along Buffalo Bayou, and there is no better activation of the currents of our contemporary art and culture than this truly unique, free, outdoor event.
