AURORA SUMMER FILMMAKING CAMPS

Registration for Aurora’s summer 2025 youth filmmaking camps is now open!

For over 15 years, Aurora has presented kids with the opportunity to see, learn about, and make movies. During Aurora’s week-long, hands-on camps, our teaching artists will show a variety of films from our media library, teach the basics of both traditional and experimental moviemaking, encourage creative thinking, and facilitate collaboration. Participants, ages 7-11 and 12-15, will be guided through developing, shooting, and editing digital short films. There is one advanced camp (Camp 7) that is designed for participants 12-15 who have previously attended at least one Aurora camp and are especially motivated to learn more about video editing and visual effects. The special premiere screening of camp films will take place at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 1:00pm. 

SUMMER 2025 CAMP REGISTRATION
Each camp is one week, Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm, and will be held at Aurora Picture Show’s new East End location – 5601A Navigation Blvd. Houston, TX 77011. The cost per camp is $400 / $350 for Aurora members (Members, please log into your account to receive your discount). A 75% refund of the tuition cost will be provided if the cancellation is received at least 10 days before the camp starts. Without 10 days notice, total tuition is forfeited. But please note that we rarely have cancellations, and will not contact you unless we have a spot for you.) Information about applying for need-based scholarships is below.

NOTE: Camp 7 is our advanced camp focusing on editing, effects, etc. for motivated makers who have previously attended at least one Aurora camp.
