Student Presentations for Collaboration Among the Arts

Student Presentations for Collaboration Among the Arts
Interdisciplinary Projects based on Puppet Shows by University of Houston Students
Friday, December 5, 7PM
Free Admission

Students from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts at the University of Houston will present interdisciplinary performances in collaborative teams as part of the IART program.  Under the guidance of Aurora Curator and UH Professor Mary Magsamen, this performance is the culminating project of the semester.  The course explored experimental approaches to art making through the process of collaboration. Working together, students developed artistic practices that challenge and flow between the boundaries between visual art, writing, music, cinema, performance, theatre and dance.

As the final project presentation, students worked together to conceptualize a project centered around a puppet show. There are four groups presenting their final collaborative works with themes ranging from fairy tales, shadow animation and middle school education.
