The Menil Collection collaborates with Aurora Picture Show to present "Warhol on TV," a curated screening of excerpts of works created by or featuring the artist Andy Warhol. The program will include episodes from Andy Warhol's series "Andy Warhol's 15 Minutes," a cable television series from the 1980s which featured celebrities of the time interviewed by Warhol; "The Untitled Factory Diaries," Warhol's home movie series from the 60s and 70s, and highlights from his appearances on television sitcoms such as "The Love Boat".  Warhol was an American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker who was a leading figure in the pop art movement.  The TV compilation is courtesy of the The Andy Warhol Museum.

This special screening begins with a prelude VJ performance by Camilo Gonzalez from 7:00 to 7:30PM that is sponsored by Microcinema International DVD.  The presentation will include excerpts from Visions of Warhol, among other Warhol-related selections.  Visions of Warhol presents scenes from the life of Andy Warhol, as seen by three pioneer avant-garde filmmakers and close friends of the artist. "Warhol on TV" will start at 7:30PM.


Please remember to bring your blankets and picnics. Oh My! Pocket Pies gourmet food truck will be on hand to sell some yummy treats.
The Menil Collection will have extended hours and be open for viewing from 7-9PM as well.
