Dress in your Western best and show off your rowdy ranch diva at an evening inspired by rodeo season in Houston.  Aurora joins in the Western celebrations with a little twist, presenting "Steers and Beers", a curated series of artist-made films about cowboys, rodeos, and all things Western.  Including slow motion, kaleidoscope and documentary footage from rodeo bulls, riders and spectators, this collection of short films is specially curated by Aurora curator Mary Magsamen.  Arrive early and participate in alternative rodeo fun, including mechanical bull riding, keg roping and steer decorating.

The special screening takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 26, at a retail location in Hedwig Village, 8725 Katy Freeway.

The screening includes artists such as Mary Lucier, recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and an American Film Institute Independent Filmmaker Grant, and Ramzy Telley, whose work has screened at Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and the Shanghai Art Museum, among a number of other artists.
