Stopping at 50 cities in 50 days, the Wave Books Poetry Bus Tour is the biggest literary event of 2006 and the largest poetry tour ever attempted. Over two hundred poets, along with musicians, filmmakers and journalists, will participate as the bus traverses North America, bringing innovative poetry to big cities and small towns across the U.S. and Canada. Sponsored by Wave Books, the poetry bus will go more places with more poets reading more poems than was ever previously believed possible.

The Houston stop will is curated by Travis Nichols and will feature poets Joshua Beckman, Matthew Zapruder, Dara Wier, and Gillian Conoley, plus special guests!

Joshua Beckman is the author of five books, including Shake and two collaborations with Matthew Rohrer: Nice Hat.Thanks. and Adventures While Preaching the Gospel of Beauty. Author Matthew Zapruder is a widely published poet and translator, as well as the founder and Editor in Chief of the acclaimed poetry publishing house Verse Press (now Wave Books). Dara Wier's published ten books including 2005's Reverse Rapture (Verse Press) and the upcoming Remnants of Hannah.Gillian Conoley's collections include Profane Halo, Lovers in the Used World, Beckon, Tall Stranger and Some Gangster Pain, among others.
