Seafaring is in the air, and artists across the globe are investigating the evolving relationship between humans and the sea. This waterborne excursion will take viewers aboard the M/V Sam Houston for a one hour screening of recent films and videos about artists engaged in nautical exploration, maritime history, boatbuilding, fishing, sea-steading, and radical expeditions. Featuring videos by Todd Chandler with Swoon, Open_Sailing, Protei, Mary Mattingly and Waterpod Project, Shrimpboat Projects, and more.
Andrea Grover is a curator, artist and writer. She is the founder of Aurora Picture Show, Houston, and has curated exhibitions on art, technology, and collectivity for apexart, New York, and Miller Gallery at Carnegie Mellon University, and is a co-author of New Art/Science Affinities (Miller Gallery at Carnegie Mellon + STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, 2011). Get ready for an unforgettably spectacular waterborne tour of one of the busiest ports in the world aboard the Port of Houston Authority's free public tour boat!
