Co-presented by Aurora Picture Show and the Menil Collection
Free Admission
Aurora and The Menil Collection present a free, outdoor screening of short films curated by Mary Magsamen in conjunction with the exhibition Collection Close-Up: Bruce Davidson’s Photographs. In response to Davidson’s work, the program features short experimental films exploring humanity’s struggles through the lens of activism and personal reflection. Seeking A Shared Humanity gives voice to various perspectives by weaving together portraits of individuals, cultures, and environments. The program includes films by Jem Cohen, Chap Edmonson, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Sky Hopinka, Lynne Sachs, Ja’Tovia Gary, and Suneil Sanzgiri. All are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs for this front lawn screening. In the event of inclement weather, this will take place inside the foyer of the museum’s main building.
