PLUS Sofia Caetano’s Queen of Discomfort™ interactive RV installation on view
Performance art duo Princess–a collaboration of Alexis Gideon and Michael O’Neill–playfully explores queerness and the concept of masculinity. On the heels of presentations at the Andy Warhol Museum and the New Museum, Aurora is pleased to present the Houston premiere of their new, lo-fi, sci-fi video and performance piece, Out There. Extoling the power of the Divine Feminine and considering what roles men ought to be playing in the current cultural reckoning of misogyny, Out There includes the duo’s collaborations with JD Samson, Jennifer Meridian, and TEEN.
SOFIA CAETANO: QUEEN OF DISCOMFORT™
Aurora is pleased to host artist Sofia Caetano's interactive multimedia installation Poison Garden in a touring motorhome gallery, on view after the Princess performance. This installation features video collages projected on mylar and acrylic paint, as well as a “non-material” guru, sweetheart, and host Fatty Con Fetti who is beamed digitally from a projection helmet worn by the visitor!
