Limboland: Film & Video by Bjorn Melhus

Aurora Picture Show presents Limboland, a selection from eleven years of film and video by German artist Bjorn Melhus. Melhus was included in the 1999 Venice Biennale, and he will be traveling throughout the U.S. with this program.
Limboland is a chronological journey through different realities where the narratives suggest a desire to pass from the suspension of non-being into being. Limbo (Lat. limbo/limbus) is an unpleasant, intermediate state for those who are denied entrance to either heaven or hell. It is Purgatory, a non-place.
