Fault Diagnosis examines the way we behave when the things we rely on suddenly fail us. Aurora Picture Show hosts the final night of this multimedia project that traces the story of a stranded passenger and his car. Throughout a five day period of the CounterCurrent 2016 festival, audiences will use a GPS-triggered app to follow a broken down 1985 Nissan Pulsar NX around Houston, traveling through various stages of repair and disrepair. On its final night, the project abandons its primary object, the car, for a complex installation with lots of monitors and gadgets that immerses us in the car’s manual, where we consider notions of “fixing” and “unfixing,” and expose what occurs within the voids and gaps of our machinery and our lives.
