Aurora’s most popular annual event returns with the twelfth annual Extremely Shorts Festival Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 at Molly Gochman's Studio, located at 2442 Bartlett Street. Culled from an international open call for entries, Extremely Shorts 12 features video and film works of three minutes or less. The annual competition brings to the forefront the latest in artist- made experimental, narrative, and avant-garde film.
Each screening of selected works will be 60 minutes, and ballots will be distributed for audience choice with cash awards given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Screenings are scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, June 27 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28. There is also a ticketed Backyard Picnic beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 (following the 5 p.m. screening). Enjoy karaoke and good food by moonlight on the final night of the festival. The closing party picnic is generoualy sponsored by Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Tacos a Go-Go and Whole Foods Market.

ABOUT BILL ARNING
Juror Bill Arning has more than twenty years experience in the arts. Recently named the Director of the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Arning served as Curator of the MIT List Visual Arts Center, Boston, MA and previously as Director and Chief Curator at White Columns Alternative Arts Space in New York for over ten years.

Admission to the Aurora Picture Show's engagements of Extremely Shorts 12 is $6 and free for Aurora members (RSVP REQUIRED). Admission to Sunday's Backyard Picnic is $12 regular admission and $10 for members.
