BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer)
Saturday, May 11, 8:30-10:30PM
UPDATE: BYOB 2024 is now cancelled due to power outages. Aurora really loves presenting this annual projection event, and we were hoping it could at least serve as a positive community gathering after the storm. But that wasn’t in the cards. Those of you with power, maybe beam you own thing tonight! We look forward to seeing you at upcoming Aurora events, and at BYOB next spring.
Free Admission
Co-presented by Aurora Picture Show and The Menil Collection
Location: The Menil Collection Front Lawn 1533 Sul Ross
Aurora and The Menil Collection present this lively, annual evening of community-sourced projections covering the museum’s façade. This outdoor event is free and open to attend, and all are invited to contribute their own video, film, or slide imagery, though participants must register in advance through our website (Note: All of the time slots for participation are now filled.) Originally inspired by artist Rafaël Rozendaal’s Berlin events and the spread of global BYOB gatherings, this has become a Houston tradition for participants and picnicking audiences alike since 2013. We encourage attendees to bring their own blankets, chairs, snacks and beverages.
