The non-profit arts organizations of the Menil Campus, including Aurora Picture Show, band together to showcase a free afternoon of arts and entertainment including performances, exhibits, screenings, readings, classes, and services at an all-day open house.
The Open House will extend across the Menil "campus" from West Alabama to Richmond Avenue, including the Menil's four buildings for art: the 1987 museum designed by architect Renzo Piano to house and display the art collection assembled by Dominique and John de Menil, Cy Twombly Gallery, the Byzantine Fresco Chapel, and Richmond Hall (the permanent installation of work by Dan Flavin).
Join Aurora for family-friendly videoke and treats at the office from 3-6PM, a musical performance from DJ Lama at the Menil Bookstore from 6:30-8PM, followed by a screening of short films funded by the Austin Film Society’s Texas Filmmakers Production Fund at 8PM, on the side of the Menil building, 1515 Sul Ross (on Mulberry Street side).
