RUSH PROCESS
Festival of Handcrafted Animation
Rush Process celebrates DIY, handcrafted animation as a vehicle for self-expression. Organized by Houston filmmaker Dave Merson Hess, the festival brings a diverse selection of stunning, new, non-digital animated works that touch upon a range of genres and techniques–including documentary, narrative, stop-motion, paper cut-out, direct animation and others. Competition films were selected by artist jurors Jennifer Levonian of OOF Collective; Sundance Jury Prize-winning stop-motion animator Adam Parrish King; Ash and Bryan Kramer of Drifter Pictures; and handcrafted animation powerhouse Kelly Gallagher. Special thanks to DZED Systems LLC and Fandor for their support in providing prizes.
