A Holiday Animation Workshop with IKEA Houston

Based on the success of our past visits, IKEA Houston continues it's support of Aurora Picture Show Popcorn Kids Mobile Media Literacy workshops for 2012. To celebrate we are hosting a holiday-inspired stop-motion animation workshop at the store.  

The stop-animation workshop will teach children a form of animation in which still photographs are filmed and manipulated in ways that make them appear to move on their own.  Youth will use the new 2012 IKEA catalog and toys from the store to create short films that spread the cheer of the season or can even be used as a gift to give to someone special.  IKEA and Aurora Picture Show volunteers will help participants create their story and local filmmakers will help bring them to life.

This special workshop will take place on Saturday, December 10 from 12-3PM at IKEA Houston (7810 Katy Freeway).  Admission is FREE but spaces are limited and interested parties are advised to sign up in advance. If you would like to participate, please visit www.ikeahouston.com to RSVP.
