Aurora presents a special screening of short films by Colectivo Los Ingrávidos, an evolving group of film/video artists based in Tehuacán, Mexico. Founded in 2012, this anonymous collective disrupts corporate cultural syntax with radical combinations of traditional mythology, popular culture, natural landscapes, protest documents, and rhythmic abstraction. Keenly concerned with unjust suppression and violence–especially incidents of femicide in rural Mexico, the collective’s layered audiovisual poetry is meant to act as communally experienced trance, opening new modes of perceiving the present. This screening will take place at The Storyhive, and will be followed by a casual reception.

Aurora presenta una proyección de cortometrajes del Colectivo Los Ingrávidos, un grupo en evolución de artistas de cine/video con sede en Tehuacán, México. Fundado en el 2012, este colectivo anónimo interrumpe la sintaxis cultural corporativa con combinaciones radicales de mitología tradicional, cultura popular, paisajes naturales, documentos de protesta y abstracción rítmica. Profundamente afectados por la injusta represión y la violencia—especialmente los casos de feminicidio en el México rural—la poesía audiovisual estratificada del colectivo tiene como intención de funcionar como un trance experimentado de manera colectiva, abriendo nuevos modos de percibir el presente.
