LOCK UP YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS: ANTI-GAY FILMS 1950-1990

CURATED BY BILL TAYLOR

Preshow entertainment…

Once Upon A Honeymoon, 1956, 14:00

I thought it would be important to start out with a stereotypical example of how gay people were perceived to be in the movies and television in the early 50s, aka the swishy, limp-wristed, fop. This film is an EXCELLENT example of that. This film is about PHONE COLORS, what I like to call “ Far from Heaven” meets the industrial film, with a very swishy angel presiding!

Are You Ready for Marriage, 1950s, 14:00

A film about how teenagers were supposed to behave in the 1950s.

Showtime!

Red Light/Green Light, 16:00

This is an excellent educational film teaching young kids about strangers. Atrociously acted and planned out, this film also boasts a notorious and nasty ANTI-GAY SLANT, with all the 'dangerous strangers' being same sex with no explanation.

Perversion for Profit, 1965, 12:00

This is my favorite of the program. I NEVER get tired of watching this. George Putnam (who is introduced as a "Outstanding News Reporter") lays the stark truth out for us as simply as possible.  Blaming everything from “Lesbianism, Sadism... and every kind of sexual perversity...” on (that's right!) “The Communist Masters Of Deceit." This jaw dropping film is both funny, scary, silly and amazingly outdated.

Anti-Disney Videos, 1990s, 12:00

Composed of three videos made by church groups blasting Disney for being too pro-homosexual.

  1. The Disney Boycott: A Just Cause: An excellent overview of their “POSITION”

  2. The Dark Side of Disney: Narrated by “THE BEAST”, lamenting the loss of Christian principles and the rise in SECULAR COMMUNISM in the Disney product. Uh huh…

  3. Disney Cartoon Proof: A myriad of cartoon examples that show Drag! Asses! xNudity! Ass Licking!

Soapy The Germ Fighter, 10:00

This very curious short features Billy, dirty kid. Parents beg him to wash. No can do. Why? “They want me to be a sissy.” Then one night Billy had a dream… It’s SOAPY! Soapy sets Billy straight, telling him it’s not sissy to be clean… but wait! Soapy looks to be one BIG QUEER himself with his pink frilly sleeves, pink leotard and his insistence that Billy is his PARTNER.

The Gay Agenda, 1992, 19:00

This notorious video was widely distributed by various religious groups in the 1990s to warn folks about those darn homosexuals and their special rights that they wanted to have. From fact spewing “experts” blabbering on about anal sex to our favorite anti-gay crusaders, the ex-gay ministry spokesperson, this is a deadly serious, but blackly funny piece.

The Heterosexual Agenda, 2001, 12:00

This very funny spoof of “The Gay Agenda” made by Vancouver filmmaker Mark Kenneth Woods REVERSES everything that The Gay Agenda stood for. This time HETEROSEXUALITY  is the evil that is gripping our country and ex-straight people confess thinking that their lives would mean something if they produced offspring and baked cookies.
