Aurora and Houston Cinema Arts Festival co-present this special evening of film and live performance. Brent Green will present animated films, including A Brief Spark Bookended by Darkness and Strange Fates, accompanied by live narration and music by Green and multi-instrumentalist Walt McClements (Lonesome Leash, Dark Dark Dark, Hooray for the Riff Raff). Vanessa Renwick will present two works focusing on changing landscapes and bodies, including the premiere of Orca Elegy, a new dual-projection work in which she spins out a poetic lament from the visual histories of selected 16mm elementary school films about nature, accompanied by an enigmatic live score by guitarist Marisa Anderson.
