Aurora Picture Show welcomes back another Gish Picks curated I Can Do Anything! screening of film shorts by, about, and for kids celebrates children, who truly can do anything because they still know how to dream! You’ll get to meet young Emily Yueng, who learns about cultural traditions around the world; a young boy whose violin saves him from homesickness; and a girl named Trudy whose big mouth gets her into trouble and makes her special at the same time. There will be plenty of shorts about boys and girls of all kinds, doing all kinds of things. And after this screening, kids will be inspired to do anything!

KID PRESIDENT'S PEP TALK
"It's everybody's duty to give the world a reason to dance" and "If life is a game, aren't we all on the same team?" are words of wisdom in this video by the shortest president ever.
NOW YOU KNOW IT ANYWAY
At a sunny flea market, Robin tries to sell her own made-up stories. As she tells one of her stories with increasing confidence to a potential customer, all the main characters come alive and anxiously listen in.
IN A HEARTBEAT
A little girl overcomes her fear and shyness by standing up for a classmate being bullied. She soon learns that taking action and making a difference gives her confidence that she sorely needs.
THE CHINESE VIOLIN
In this animated short, a young girl and her father move from China to Canada, bringing only their Chinese violin along for the journey. As they face the challenge of starting fresh in a new place, the music of the violin connects them to the life they left behind and guides the girl towards a musical future.

If you think clothes swaying on a line don't have a life, you're wrong! Things swinging on trees aren't just hanging around...
ZOOPERSTARS CHALLENGE
Kids can do anything -- even eat gummy fish without their hands!
BIG MOUTH
This animated film by Andrea Dorfman introduces us to Trudy, who learns how her big mouth gets her into trouble and makes her special at the same time.
TZARITA
Warmth, humor, and magic abound in this story about a young girl who misses her grandmother. When Lili finds a tzaritza (magic shell) along the seashore, she hatches a plan to bring her Grandma from Bulgaria to Montreal to make her father happy.
ASTHMA TECH
Young Winston, who suffers from chronic asthma, isn't able to participate in the everyday activities of his peers and classmates. He copes with the predicament through his vivid imagination, with paper and crayons. On one particularly rainy afternoon, Winston discovers that the magic of imagination has the power to transform and empower, and his skills and talents save the day.
EMILY YUENG: SHARING MULTI-CULTURAL TRADITIONS:
This is Emily Yueng Making a Medicine Wheel
Young Emily Yueng spends time with Native Americans learning how to make a medicine wheel and other traditional crafts.
SLEDDIN'
Sleddin' tells the story of Gus, a daring boy, who sleds down a towering mountain. After crashing at the bottom, he discovers that reality was not quite what it seemed to be. This story is a metaphor for experiences that are larger-than-life. Phenomenal moments are often created in our childhood, but are ultimately dependent on our own perspective and willingness to believe.
HAIL
Emily Hubley's film encourages everyone to be who they want to be through a song by Vic Campos.
