Artist Genevieve Quick in attendance
Aurora is pleased to present this unique, interactive installation by San Francisco-based interdisciplinary artist Genevieve Quick, that includes a performance commissioned by McEvoy Foundation for the Arts. Part of her Planet Celadon series, Hello World, Hello Houston is a Science Fiction installation exploring the Asian American diasporic experience. Using a video game platform as narrative navigator and communication portal, participants will be a part of Quick's CETI (Celadonian ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence) research consortium as they encounter communication outages, the Golden Record, a black hole, and the multiverse. Over the course of Saturday evening’s drop-in program, Aurora visitors will be able to both observe and/or participate in the experience. Additionally, the work will be open to view on Sunday, Nov. 6 (11am) followed by an artist conversation with Quick and Houston artist Joo-Young Choi at (12PM).
