Fresh Arts Fridays: An Evening of Dance and Film
The Cost of Living
Discovery Green Park, located in Downtown Houston across from the Convention Center
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Pack a picnic for this special outdoor event at the new Discovery Green park downtown. The evening begins with performances by the University of Houston Dance Ensemble and Travesty Dance Group, who will perform the piece "Green." Aurora Picture Show will follow their performance with a presentation of the dance film The Cost of Living by Choreographer/Director Lloyd Newson of London's DV8 Physical Theater. This 34-minute comic narrative takes us to a faded seaside town where street performers David and Eddie struggle to find work and romance. The film is described as a work that hurls provocations and humor at notions of how the fit and unfit are supposed to act.

The Cost of Living is part of the Dance on Camera Festival touring program made possible in part through the National Endowment for the Arts.

Dance performance at 7PM. Film at 8PM.
