Join Aurora Picture Show, Houston's microcinema church, in celebrating our one-year anniversary on Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20. The weekend festivities will include 3 screenings of Extremely Shorts II-- twenty-two 3 minute or shorter videos by 18 artists-- and a family-style Congregational Picnic in the backyard. Works were submitted from all over the country and range from amateur to seasoned video/filmmaker. Among the highlights are Uncommercials from Adbusters, Canada's culture jamming guerrilla media group, a used car lot performance called Come on Down by The Art Guys, a portrait of an odd rural violinist, The New Milford Fiddler, by video pioneer Andy Mann, an urban video poem called Run by New York video artist Shalom Gorewitz, The National Sofa a proposal for the White House by Doug Michels of Ant Farm fame, and a gooey survival suit performance called Cartoon by Torsten Z. Burns of the Halflifers.
