Extremely Shorts Film Festival 2017

Extremely Shorts Film Festival 2017

May 19- 20, 2017

Guest Jurors:

M.M. Serra of Film-Maker’s Cooperative

Marian Luntz of The Museum of Fine Arts Houston

Aurora’s annual Extremely Shorts Film Festival is an open-call, juried collection of adventurous, new short films (3 minutes or less) of all kinds and from around the world. Over the past two decades, the festival has been a fun and funky Houston event, showcasing a wide-ranging collage of new films from local, national, and international artists. The short format encourages a quick pace and a diversity of approaches and tones in the programs. Now in its 20th year, we’re happy to have the involvement of guest jurors M.M. Serra of Film-Maker’s Cooperative and Marian Luntz of The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, who have selected films for the main and youth programs from more than 400 submissions from 37 countries! As always, the festival winners are chosen by you, the audience, at screenings on Friday and Saturday. This year, we’re also holding a special closing night celebration, including encore screenings of this year’s Audience Award Winners and a survey of films from 20 years of Extremely Shorts! (A ticket to that event includes a pass for admission to all other festival screenings, too!)
