Extremely Shorts 9

Send us your mini masterpiece. Entries of videos three minutes or less will be selected for screening at Extremely Shorts 9, one of Aurora's most anticipated annual events.

Juror Kevin Everson is an artist and filmmaker who has made two feature films and over twenty-five short 16mm, 35mm and digital films about the working class culture of Black Americans and other people of African descent. His films focus on conditions, tasks, gestures, and materials in these communities. Everson's work has been exhibited internationally including Museum of Modern Art; Whitney Museum of American Art; Studio Museum in Harlem, the Armand Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and Whitechapel Gallery, London. His most recent feature Cinnamon presents a glimpse into the world of African American drag racing.

Guidelines for Entries
All entries must be delivered by, or postmark by May 1, 2006. Entrants may submit up to three titles. Each title must run three minutes or shorter. Multiple submissions may be compiled on a single tape. Acceptable formats for submission: VHS, SVHS, DVD, or miniDV (NTSC format only). Tapes will not be returned unless received with a return postage-paid shipping envelope. Entry fee is $10/members or $15/nonmembers, per title. Audience choice cash prizes will be paid at the conclusion of the festival which runs June 24-25, 2006. Please read the complete entry guidlines.
