Aurora presents a special screening of artist Emily Peacock’s film August (2016) in conjunction with her solo show “The Likelihood of Future Improvement” at Jonathan Hopson Gallery. Inspired by experiences during her own mother’s illness and death in 2015, Peacock’s personal, poetic film portrait conveys the mixed emotions of growing into independent adulthood, celebrates photography, and captures slices of both rural and urban East Texas life. The film features Sophie Frazam in the central role, as well as members of Peacock's family and Houston art community.
