Cinema Bomar

Cinema Bomar

Curated by Paul and Elizabeth Nelson

Cinema Bomar and Those Nelsons bring you a selection of crypto-religious, futuristic, Eastern European, women's libration, V.D., educational films that will teach you all about taking pride in your work while developing a new appreciation for the toes of prepubescent girls and chickens broiled in vinegar. Titles include: The Audition, En Face, It's a Matter of Pride, Maine Barbecue, 1999, Summer of '63, Toes Tell, and The Quiet Revolution of Mrs Harris

Cinema Bomar, Houston, Texas, forms sporadically behind a Montrose bungalow to show 16mm educational films to small but select audiences. One day about 10 years ago, Elizabeth Nelson went to a UH auction looking for a 16mm projector and wound up buying a $40 palette full of assorted AV equipment. Paul Nelson maintains the film library,  writes industrial software and makes collages using gesso and cyanide.
