DiverseWorks is a non-profit art center dedicated to presenting new visual, performing, and literary art. For each DiverseWorks exhibition, Aurora curates a screening installation that takes place in the private screening room known as Flickerlounge. For the final Flickerlounge of the year, Aurora partners with Houston Cinema Arts Society to present a series of short films and music videos by filmmaker Braden King.  The main gallery exhibit is "My Life As A Doll" by Tara Conley and Tria Wood.

Playing off personal narratives, landscape and a sense of place and time, Braden King's work transforms a nostalgic feeling of home.  Music videos and short films include: Sparklehorse's Morning Hollow, Bonnie "Prince" Billy's Horses, [Postcards From] Here and Home Movie.

Aurora Picture Show and Houston Cinema Arts Society will also be co-presenting a live cinema performance by Braden King at the Houston Cinema Arts Festival November 10-12.  For tickets and information on this event and the Cinema Arts Festival, click here.
