Luminous Playground
Input Output

Utilizing the facade of a pavilion at Tony Marron Park, this interactive audiovisual activation blends retro arcade game elements with rhythm-based gameplay. Dynamic, large-scale visual projections are mapped to the space and, along with synchronized sound elements, respond to the movements and gestures of attendees.
Input Output is the Houston-based creative media team of Billy Baccam and Alex Ramos. Through technical innovation and a unique artistic process informed by their personal experiences, they bring structures and spaces to life through the creative implementation of light and sound. Daisy's Gate
Chap Edmonson

This bridge installation explores themes of identity, tradition, afro-futurism, and meditative reflection. The title inspired by the artist’s great-grandmother Daisy Crear, Daisy’s Gate merges elements of AI, animation, family photos, and medieval church stained-glass windows in a vibrant, kaleidoscopic visual environment that encourages thoughtful contemplation of culture and memory.
Chap Edmonson is Houston-based filmmaker whose work is rooted in a deep desire to connect with those who have come before him. Through the use of unconventional compositions and soundscapes, his works explore rich histories, imagined futures, and their intersections.

PROTECTBYE ⦁ YOUPROTECT
Jamie Robertson

This installation on a bayou dock utilizes archival footage of alligators and snapping turtles, the sounds of crickets and frogs, and text and computer-generated voices informing attendees of the significance of the waterway and the etymology of the word “bayou.” An accompanying video work places the archetype of the siren/mermaid as a protector of the bayou.
Jamie Robertson is a Houston-based visual artist and educator. Working in photography and video, Robertson’s creative practice is rooted in the recollection of the African Diaspora's personal and collective histories, with a particular interest in the Gulf South.

NIGHT LIGHT 2023 is a co-presentation of Aurora Picture Show and Buffalo Bayou Partnership.
