Aurora Picture Show has had a great year of shared art experiences! As we look back, we're grateful for the amazing local and visiting artists we’ve worked with in 2024, and for all of the adventurous audiences and fantastic community collaborators who've made our artistic and educational programs really special creative interactions. For over 25 years, Aurora has been exploring the creative possibilities and evolution of media art, centering artists’ unique expressions, and connecting community through communal experience in Houston. Especially in these challenging times, we’re more devoted than ever to this work, and increasingly inspired by the open, curious, inventive, and genuinely funky humanity in this city. We’ve got some exciting plans for 2025, and we look forward to you being a part of them!

EXTREMELY SHORTS 2025 OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS
Submission for the Extremely Shorts Film Festival 2025 is now open, with a deadline of March 10! Aurora’s annual festival features adventurous films of all kinds (3 minutes or shorter) from around the world. Extremely Shorts will be presented in Houston in late-May, with guest Juror Ekrem Serdar in attendance, and will stream online following the Houston screenings. More details…
