For 10 years, Aurora Picture Show's popular filmmaking camps have provided kids with the opportunities to see, learn, create, and collaborate! In each of these week-long, hands-on camps, our instructors screen a variety of films from Aurora's media library, teach the basics of traditional and experimental moviemaking techniques, encourage creative thinking, and facilitate collaboration. Participants are guided through developing, shooting, and editing digital short films, and provided with links to their projects for downloading and sharing. In addition, the completed summer camp films are shown at a special premiere screening at The Museum of Fine Arts Houston–this year taking place on Saturday, August 11.

Held at Aurora Picture Show, each camp is one week, Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm. The Summer 2018 schedule and links for enrollment are below.

New this year, we are offering one Advanced Camp (Camp 6) for kids 12-15 who have previously attended Aurora camp and are motivated to learn more about video editing, compositing, visual effects, sound, and exporting. At least one previous Aurora camp required for enrollment for this.

Aurora offers need-based scholarships to our camps. To apply for a scholarship please fill out the Aurora Camp Scholarship Form
by May 21, 2018. We will notify scholarship applicants and grantees by May 31, 2018.
