Volunteer for Aurora

Aurora Picture Show is always in search of volunteers to join our very important Volunteer Team. This is a great opportunity for film lovers, industry pros, aspiring filmmakers, neighborhood residents and students to help out on the front lines and behind the scenes of a microcinema and media arts organization, not to mention we hope that you have a good time and get into some films for free. There are numerous volunteer opportunities at screenings and events, but we also occasionally seek out administrative volunteers to assist with our general operations.  If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up for our newsletter or email us today.


Volunteers are Aurora’s Cast and Crew

Together with the staff, board and volunteers are the celestial team that keeps Aurora vibrant. From start to finish every program depends on the generosity of volunteers to prepare the venue for guests, creating a fun, social and welcoming environment. Because of this important supporting role Aurora has high expectations for our volunteer team, including:

• arriving on time
• being prepared to work
• focusing on the task at hand
• staying until the work is done
• keeping staff informed of what is working for patrons what may need to change

There’s No Place Like Home

Volunteers help create the Aurora atmosphere by helping:

• provide hospitality
• welcoming folks when they arrive and thanking them when they leave
• prepare and operate the theater
• sell concessions
• controlling lighting
• clean-up and put away

Because our volunteers help us provide patrons with stellar treatment, we want to make sure that our volunteers also get some Aurora Love. Volunteer rewards include:
