AURORA SUMMER FILMMAKING CAMPS
Now in its tenth year, Aurora Picture Show's popular filmmaking camps give kids the opportunity to learn about, create, and discuss film and video. Part of our Media Education initiatives, our hands-on youth camps teach narrative and experimental filmmaking techniques, with local professionals guiding participants in developing, shooting, and editing digital short films. Camps are held Aurora Picture Show - 2442 Bartlett Street, 77098. All camps are from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
Working collaboratively on digital video projects, students are not only exposed to introductory filmmaking techniques but also explore less traditional film and video. Using the Aurora's Video Library, students will be able to explore examples of experimental, documentary, and short narrative videos for inspiration. Topics include story structures and writing, direction, camera operation, sound, and editing. At the end of the class students will receive a link to their film to be downloaded and shared. The finished films are premiered for family and friends at a special showcase held at The Museum of Fine Arts Houston on Saturday, Aug. 12.
