 Literally Short Film Awards with Literal Magazine
As part of Literal Magazine's 10th anniversary celebrations, they are having their first short film competition, Literally Short Film Awards. Literally Short is an event initiated by their drive to bridge all cultures into one collaborative stage that stimulates international artistic expression.

Show Aurora some love by grocery shopping at Whole Foods Market Bellaire on Wednesday, November 12. As the beneficiary of this month's Whole Foods Market Community Giving Day at the Bellaire location, the store will donate 5% of their net sales from that day to Aurora Picture Show.

 Time Squared with Ken Jacobs and HCAS
In partnership with the Houston Cinema Arts Festival, Aurora presents avant-garde film pioneer Ken Jacobs. Jacobs has explored varieties of 3D perception through projector performances for the past five decades, often drawing upon early cinema and other found images.

 Mark Tribe: The Port Huron Project
The Port Huron Project (2006-2009) is a series of reenactments of protest speeches from the New Left movements of the Vietnam era and includes speeches by Stokely Carmichael (1967), Cesar Chavez (1971), Angela Davis (1969), Coretta Scott King (1968), Paul Potter (1965), and Howard Zinn (1971).
