Aurora Award Gala 2011

Our 2011 Aurora Award was held at the magical residence of Jim McAlister Jr. on Thursday, October 27 with over 100 supporters in attendance. The event raised funds to support the 2012 season of Aurora Picture Show.  The highlight of the evening was the acceptance speech of video artist Joan Jonas who accepted her award designed by local artist Elaine Bradford.  Cocktails were hosted by Laetitia Winery and Saint Arnold Brewing Company, as well as a delicious meal made possible by City Kitchen Catering.  In addition, the raffle for the private screening was a successful addition to this year's event with a lucky winner who has kindly offered to host the screening as a mini-fundraiser for Aurora.  Thank you to everyone who sponsored and attended for your generous contributions and role in keeping our nomadic cinema rolling across Houston.
