The Houston Arts Alliance has offered grants to artists in creative writing, visual arts, music composition, choreography, and performance art since 1985.  It seeks to advance the nonprofit arts industry in Greater Houston through its public/private partnership with the City of Houston. "Our mission is to support and promote artistic life in the Houston regions through programs, initiatives, and alliances. We strive to support artistic programs that make Houston an attractive cultural destination."
